Report: Halliburton lays off more than 800 in Oklahoma

Houston based Halliburton is reportedly laying off more than 800 employees in Oklahoma.

According to reports, the layoff of 808 employees is expected to be permanent and that the facility in El Reno, a suburb of Oklahoma is not expected to remain open.

The Oklahoma Office of Workforce Development says the agency was notified of the layoffs and apparent closure of the office yesterday.

A Halliburton Energy Services Inc. spokeswoman told the Associated Press the company will provide additional information "by midday" today.
