Rice Political Science professor Dr. Mark Jones says he thinks O'Rourke will truly not run for John Cornyn's Senate seat. “There already are 5 high quality candidates who have been running from six months to a year for this slot --- and they’re not going to go away when O’Rourke wants to parachute in. During his presidential bid, O’Rourke veered very sharply to the left and that probably made him un-electable in a statewide race in Texas.”
So, we ask again, what's he going to do? Says Jones, "If a democrat defeats President Trump in 2020 there could be a place for him in the new administration. Otherwise his wife is the daughter of a billionaire so I don’t think he’ll have a hard time making ends meet.”
