The Astros aren't in a must-win situation yet, but this is about as close as it gets.
The team, which was flying high after the dramatic way the ALCS ended, finds themselves down 2-0 in the best-of-seven World Series as the scene shifts to Washington tonight. The team hasn't hit the Nationals. And the two games they lost were thrown by their best pitchers, Gerrit Cole and Justin Verlander. That has a lot of the national media writing the Astros off. It also has manager A.J. Hinch a little grumpy.
"This is a group of guys that have won a lot of games. I understand that everybody wants the pressure put on us. That's great. We've responded to pressure. I wonder what everyone will feel like if we can win Game Three," Hinch explained.
Hinch also said that if you think any of his players are feeling sorry for themselves, think again.
"There's no gloom and doom with us," Hinch flatly stated.
Zack Greinke gets the start for the Astros tonight. Anibal Sanchez, who has not pitched since October 11th, goes for Washington. First pitch is set for 7:07.
