Texas Neighbors Will Hold Gubernatorial Runoff

Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards is going to face a Republican challenger in a runoff election. The Democrat received about 46 percent of the vote in Saturday's election. He needed to exceed 50 percent to avoid the runoff.

With 97 percent of the precincts reporting Republican Eddie Rispone earned the right to face Edwards by getting more than 27 percent of the vote in the six-way race.

There was only one other Democrat running and that candidate earned less than one percent. There were three Republicans running, as well as an independent.

Rispone is a millionaire businessman who is running as an outsider.
