To qualify candidates had to have raised a minimum of $50,000 in campaign donations, allowing incumbent Mayor Sylvester Turner, lawyer Tony Buzbee, businessman Bill King and City Councilman Dwight Boykins to take the stage. The debate was broadcast Friday night by KPRC TV 2.
