Texans fans should prepare themselves for a wild one on Sunday.
Look for a lot of points to be put on the board when the Texans hit the road to face Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Texans are 3-2 and are coming off of a big win over Atlanta, a game that saw Deshaun Watson throw for five touchdowns. That was good enough for him to win AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season.
On the other side of the field will be Mahomes, the former Red Raider, who has led Kansas City to a 4-1 start. Mahomes was named the NFL's Most Valuable Player for putting up fifty touchdown passes last season, and Texans star J.J. Watt knows his defense has a lot of work ahead of it on Sunday.
He's a phenomenal player. It's a great challenge for us, which we are looking forward to. The guy deserves all the credit he gets," Watt said.
Texans coach Bill O'Brien says as good as Mahomes has been, he feels like Watson gets lost in the shuffle when it comes to the hype, and that both quarterbacks are deserving of the spotlight.
"These guys are great players. I think the way that they play the game, and they way that they understand the game, and their insticts for the game; they are both tough to defend," O'Brien said on Wednesday.
Sunday's kickoff is set for Noon.
