For the 133rd time, Texans gather at Fair Park in Dallas to celebrate all things Texas, Big Tex greeting guests in a newly designed outfit with new boots. Yep, new jeans from Dickies, a new shirt, and boots creatively designed through a nationwide contest.
“Celebrating Texas Creativity” is the theme this year, and the organizers have come up with some creative new attractions, including Casa de Chocolate, which Karissa Condoianis, Senior Vice President of Public Relations says is in the Women’s Museum Building. “It’s to introduce people to the world of chocolate and cocoa bean from Mexico.” There is a new attraction featuring 85 handmade marionettes, new fried foods to taste, a Texas Cinema screening of the history of the Lone Star State in film, and of course, football. The AT&T Red River Showdown is October 12. The Cotton Bowl has a new clear bag policy familiar to Houston football fans but new at the state fair.
