In Detroit, talks between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union broke down Saturday morning, 9-15-2019. The Union now says at 11:59 pm they are going out on strike. This is the UAW's first strike since 1982. It will impact 49,000 GM workers. General Motors says the two sides remain very far apart in their negotiation over a new agreement. There are many workers in Texas who will be affected by this strike.
