Border Patrol Agent is Shot

A Border Patrol agent is recovering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound after a traffic stop in Brackettville, Texas turns deadly just east of Del Rio at the U.S. border with Mexico.

The suspect was shot dead.

Two Border Patrol agents pulled over a car Friday night and a person inside the vehicle opened fire, shooting one of the agents. The other agent returned fire, killing the gunman. A second person in the vehicle was arrested.

The Texas Rangers and FBI are assisting in the investigation.
