If you like things cold, you'll like what is coming in the next few months.
According to the Farmer's Almanac and their winter weather outlook you should get ready for a wild ride, with the country experiencing a freezing cold snap starting at the end of January. Jeff Lindner with the Harris County Flood Control District isn't writing it off.
"The pattern we've seen this summer is one that featured these big troughs that will allow cold air to come down from Canada into the central plains," Lindner said.
As for Texas' winter, the Farmer's Almanac says that overall we will be milder and drier than we usually are.
