It was Aug. 25, 2017. Hurricane Harvey came to shore as a Category 4 hurricane. Harvey is now the second costliest natural disaster in the U.S. [Hurricane Katrina is so far the costliest}. Much of the damage has been removed or repaired although there is still work to be done. Nearly 14 billion dollars in federal funds (grants, loans, hurricane insurance payments) have assisted in the recovery. People from all over the country sent emergency supplies to us by the truck load. Many came to help us themselves. (We will never forget the Cajun Navy.)
