Separating fact from fiction when it comes to recession talk

When stocks plunged this week, the mainstream media lost their minds.

Everywhere you went you heard them talk about recession. Literally it was the talk on every single mainstream media network. KTRH's Rush Limbaugh was suspicious.

"When it all happens to align with what the Democrat Presidential candidates are saying, isn't it time to be very suspicious of it," Limbaugh asked on Wednesday's show.

Lone Star College economist Hank Lewis he's not concerned .. yet.

"There's a little bit to be concerned about right now. I'm not majorly worried yet," Lewis said.

He explained that if we see the yield curve invert for several consecutive weeks, that's when he will start worrying, and that's when you should start the clock on any coming recession.

"If it becomes more stark, I would say 18 to 24 months," Lewis stated.

That said, bankruptcies rose by 3% from last year to this year.
