Mortgage rates fell to their lowest level since 2016 last week. Houston real estate agent Mike Weaster agrees it's a good time to sell.
"I personally think, as a realtor, it's an excellent time to sell your home; there are buyers out there looking, interest rates are low and prices are going pretty good."
Weaster says some home buyers have been watching to see what the Fed will do.
"There are buyers out there waiting for interest rates to stay down or go down, for sellers now would be a good time to put it on the market because there are buyers who've been waiting."
Weaster thinks interest rates will stay low for the foreseeable future. He says the Houston housing market is one of the best.
"The Houston market, from what I'm seeing from friends in the industry, other MSAs, the Houston market is doing a lot better than most other ones; we seem to be appreciating, not rapidly, but we are appreciating."
Weaster says it's a good time for sellers because mortgage rates are at a three year low and a lot of prospective buyers have been waiting to buy for a long time.
