Now parents in Illinois are giving up guardianship of their high school seniors to qualify for more financial aid.
Education Expert David Dillard says these parents should be ashamed of themselves for using a loophole in the law this way.
He says this scam is taking away from the student who really need financial aid and these parents need to be punished for their behavior.
