Report: Mid-year law enforcement fatalities down

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund says sixty officers have been killed in the line of duty across the country, which is a 35 percent decrease from the 92 we saw during the same time frame last year. Interim CEO Lori Sharpe Day tells KTRH they don't look at it as a positive.

"We like to see the trend going down. But sixty is too many; one is too many. But we put this data together to see what else we can do," she said.

The report also says there has been a 13 percent decrease in firearms related fatalities.
