Texas Senator John Cornyn will be in Houston later today, and will make history while he is here.
Cornyn will award the Congressional Badge of Bravery to four FBI agents for what they did to help rescue people trapped by high water during Hurricane Harvey. Cornyn says this is a first for the FBI.
“This will be the first time that this award is given to FBI agents. I think it’s an appropriate recognition for that premier law enforcement agency,” Cornyn told KTRH News on Thursday.
Cornyn says more than fifty Texans were rescued thanks to the work of these four agents.
“Everybody was lending a hand to help each other. I think it was in that spirit that these FBI agents went out of their way to rescue people and in all likelihood, save lives,” Cornyn explained.
