Mayor Sylvester Turner will launch the city’s second round of dangerous building demolitions. The mayor will be joined by city council members, the Department of Neighborhoods and community representatives. The demolitions are part of Mayor Turner’s continuing year-round initiative to eradicate blight to make neighborhoods safer and cleaner and improve quality of life for Houston residents.
On Demolition Day, 15 dangerous abandoned buildings will be demolished, including a dilapidated residential building in the Second Ward neighborhood of Council District H at 115 Milby Street.
Approximately 46 dangerous structures will be torn down over the next several months in City Council Districts B, D, H, I and K. The demolitions will be carried out by city contractors with support from Department of neighborhoods abatement crews and by property owners in compliance with official demolition orders.
