Texas Democrat apparently helping to coach asylum seekers

A Texas Democrat in Congress is reportedly sending her aides to Mexico and coaching migrants who want asylum.

The Washington Examiner says Congresswoman Veronica Escobar – who replaced Beto O’Rourke in Congress - is the one doing this. It involves 6,000 people who were returned to Mexico as part of the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy after first trying to get asylum here. Anna Giaritelli broke this story and tells KTRH these interviews are being recorded.

“Here’s someone who needs help, who should not have been returned to Mexico to wait or asylum, or here is someone who maybe has a weakness in their story and we can help get back into the U.S.,” Giaritelli explained.

Giaritelli says she asked if this was legal, and whether or not Escobar could face legal problems if there has been fraud.

“A person in Congress could not necessarily be charged with certain crimes, but their aides could,” Giaritelli stated.

Escobar has denied doing this on Twitter. But others, like Presidential candidate Cory Booker, have escorted migrants looking for asylum from Juarez to El Paso.
