Houston woman safe after alleged kidnapping; HPD trying to sort it all out

HPD says a woman is safe after police say her husband called 911 saying she'd been kidnapped at gunpoint.

This all started around 3 o'clock this morning when the woman's husband claimed his wife had been kidnapped from their southwest Houston home. The caller said he knew the suspect who took her.

A few hours later, police say the male suspect brought the woman back, without explanation. Officers then tracked the suspect down to a strip mall less than a half mile from the victim's home. He was taken into custody.

HPD is still trying to sort all of this out, and are calling this a bizarre case.
