Galveston-based T&T was able to pull an 18-wheeler from the San Jacinto River Saturday morning.
On Thursday morning 60-year old driver Steve Martinez of San Antonio was hauling a load of plastics on the East Freeway and hit a car that had spun around in an earlier accident, sending his big rig off the bridge over the river. He died in the accident.
HCSO Sheriff Ed Gonzales tweeted gratitude for the first responders who assisted in the recovery, extending condolences to Martinez’s family.
Martinez’s body was recovered Friday.
