The child who was struck by a car Thursday evening died Saturday.
She was walking in a crosswalk with two siblings at the intersection of Hodges Bend Drive and Bissonnet at 7:45pm when she was struck by a car authorities allege was driven by Angela Smith.
Smith didn’t stop and didn’t render aid, though she later told officials she was aware she had hit someone. She said her driver’s license had been suspended. She paused briefly a couple blocks away, and then left the scene before getting into a minor accident.
Smith was charged with failure to stop and render aid, though those charges are expected to be upgraded.
Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Neils says that when Smith was questioned she didn’t show any remorse.
