What do Texans think are the biggest issues facing America?

The election is well over a year away, but the main concerns that Texans have about the United States are taking shape.

According to polling from U-T and the Texas Tribune, the top concern is immigration. Political science professor Jacquie Baly at U-H told KTRH that's no surprise at all.

“We’ve seen over 476,000 illegals captured since last October. That’s an astonishing number,” Baly said.

Right behind immigration was political corruption, and Baly says it has to do with the Russia investigation and how it got started.

“Democrats ignored the fact that Hillary Clinton and other Democrats bought information from the Russians to spy on the Trump campaign,” Baly stated.

The polling showed the top concerns facing the state were immigration and border security, accounting for 37% combined.
