Houston Police say an armed robbery suspect was rushed to the hospital after being shot by an HPD officer outside a Burger King restaurant in Southwest Houston.
Police say the suspect is expected to survive his injuries.
Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo says the 23-year-old man, who attempted to carjack several drivers Wednesday afternoon on Bissonnet at Southwest Freeway, was previously given three years of deferred adjudication for armed robbery.
Acevedo says he is frustrated and aggravated and that Harris County Officials need to stop letting felons out on low bond and deferred adjudication.
