Sheriff's Deputy Shot In Katy

UPDATE: The Harris County Sheriff's Office reporting at 7am Saturday that the suspect has been apprehended.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responding to a domestic violence call in the 19600 block of Plantation Tree Court in Katy at around 11 Friday night were met by gunfire. One deputy was shot in the leg and was transported to the closest hospital. He was transferred by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann in the Medical Center where surgery was performed. The deputy is expected to recover.

A manhunt is underway for the suspect, 39 year old Brady Joseph Ray, the ex-husband of the woman whose house he had tried to break into. Ryan fled the residence and police are actively looking for the suspect.

The Sheriff’s office describes the suspect as a white male, 39 years, 5’11”, medium build, black shorts with a grey shirt. He was armed with a pistol. They released this photo of the suspect.

Authorities are asking residents to report if he is seen and to not approach on your own.
