A woman is in critical condition after her car was crushed under an 18-wheeler in southwest Houston this morning.
The accident happened on Almeda Road and Orem. Police say she was driving over 80 miles per hour on SH-288.
A policeman on patrol tried to pursue the woman, but he lost sight of the car at one point. But later on he spotted the accident, and the car underneath the 18-wheeler.
The intersection is going to be shut down for hours.
