Three big mistakes keeping women broke and unhappy

Forty-nine percent of women are the breadwinners and have outpaced men in college degrees, according to Forbes.

Research finds women are twice as likely as men to experience depression.

Motivational speaker and author Raven Magwood said three mistakes are keeping women from accomplishing their goals.

"The first mistake is just not having vision--not knowing where we want to go in life, or where to start. Number two is not being realistic--underestimating the amount of work that it is going to take to achieve a certain amount of success and not really utilizing our 24 hours to the best of our ability. And then, number three is misreading signs--so in this case we might just be keeping the wrong people in our lives or even giving up on our dreams too early," said Magwood.

She said you can combat what's holding you back from being happy at work.

"It's just a matter of knowing how to set goals, knowing that there is going to be hard work involved in achieving success and then also being aware of the people and forces around us as we're on our journey," said Magwood.
