Friday (6-7-2019) afternoon Kemah Police Chief Chris Reed fell out of his fishing boat about 2 miles from the Texas City Dike. He was not wearing a life jacket. Reed has been missing since 4:00 that afternoon. Over 40 vessels from both the Coast Guard and Volunteers have been searching for him ever since. Boats, helicopters, drones and even land vehicles are involved in the search. Additional volunteers comb the shoreline of the dike on all-terrain vehicles looking for Reed. Texas City officials have a waiting list for additional volunteers.
