UPDATE: Authorities have found remains in Arkansas
Community Activist Quanell X tells KTRH in a news conference that Darion Vence, Maleah's stepfather is responsible for the young girls death.
Quanell says Vence told him he accidentally killed Maleah and then dumped her body on a roadside in Arkansas.
Texas EquuSearch's Tim Miller said he is heading to Arkansas on a private flight this afternoon to help search for the child's body.
The girl has been missing for a month now.
Houston police investigators confirm they are looking into the claim.
Vence is currently in jail on charges on tampering with a human corpse, in connection the Maleah disappearance.
