Biden Pushes Education at Houston Town Hall

Democratic presidential frontrunner Joe Biden heads to Dallas today after making a campaign stop in Houston.

He appeared before a town hall of the American Federation of Teachers where he laid out his education plan...

"How do we increase the dignity of work; how do we increase the professionalization of how you're treated unless we pay you what you're remotely entitled to?"

Biden promised to triple funding for Title-One schools, and double the number of social workers, psychologists, counselors, and nurses in schools.

He says he knows how tough it is to be a single parent...

"I was a single parent for five years, and I had a family to help me, and I was a US Senator. But I want to tell your something; it wasn't easy... And it was easier for me than 90-percent of the other single parents in America. It gave me an appreciation I never fully, fully understood."

Biden lost his first wife and daughter in a car accident in 1972. His stop in Dallas if for a private lunchtime fundraiser.
