The Houston Astros have been hit hard by injuries. George Springer is out. Jose Altuve is out. Aledmys Diaz and Max Stassi are injured. And now you can add another name to the list; Carlos Correa.
The Astros announcing that Correa has been placed on the I-L today and will miss the next 4-6 weeks because of a fractured rib.
Correa, who last played on Sunday against Boston, has been one of the top shortstops in the American League this season, ranking second at the position in OPS (.907), HR (11) and RBI (35) and third in slugging pct. (.547). He also ranks second among AL shortstops in fielding pct. (.988), committing just two errors in 173 total chances.
Myles Straw has been recalled from AAA Round Rock to take Correa's spot on the roster.
