ITC Begins Paying Claims

The company that owns a Deer Park tank farm where a fire took place earlier this year is now evaluating and paying claims.

Intercontinental Terminals Company says residents or workers in the area at the time can file a claim for medical expenses or lost wages due to shelter-in-place orders.

The fire erupted at the chemical storage facility tank farm on March 17th and burned for several days.

During the cleanup, benzene was detected in the surrounding area.

Hourly workers could receive up to 500-dollars.

People with health claims could be paid as much as 750-dollars.
