Suspect in Houston toddler's Disappearance “Innocent”

The man accused in the disappearance of four-year old Maleah Davis got a visit from his brother. Joe Vence spoke with his older brother Derion for about 20-minutes Tuesday and claims he's innocent...

"Once God is with you, the whole world, the whole city, everybody can be against you. We’re a strong, praying family. God is on our side. God is with my brother."

Joe Vence was asked by our TV partner KPRC Channel-2 if he wanted to say anything about Maleah, who has been missing for more than a week.

“Maleah, I love her and hopefully they get all this stuff straightened out."

Maleah requires medical attention because of a recent brain surgery.

Vence initially claimed Maleah was abducted, but police say there are inconsistencies with his story.

The child's mother claims she broke off her engagement with Vence because he was physically and sexually abusive.

Derion Vence is being held on a $45,000 bond, accused of tampering with evidence, namely a corpse. Search crews are not optimistic about finding the child alive.
