Houston Police, Religious leaders hold Day of Prayer

As part of National Police Week, you are able to take part in what is a Day of Prayer.

HPD Chief Art Acevedo and other officers are joining religious leaders for a Day of Prayer which, dedicated to remembering officers who died in the line of duty.

“We come together as a community to pray for officers that made the ultimate sacrifice,” Acevedo said. “It sends a message to our extended HPD family and other agencies that the sacrifice matters to the community.”

Acevedo says you can observe as well by driving with your headlights on this week.

“People appreciate us and join with us in lifting up the good police officers and lifting up the families of the officers that made the ultimate sacrifice,” Acevedo stated.

Today’s Day of Prayer is part of National Police Week, which runs through Saturday.
