League City Police turn to billboards to help solve cold cases

Police are looking for your help in solving the Calder Road murders.

They are using an unconventional method; putting up billboards across the state. League City Police Lt. Michael Buffington tells KTRH why the entire state is being covered.

“We realize that not everybody that was in the area then is still in the area. We are hoping to take this statewide and get more exposure,” he said.

The messages will be featured on the billboards more than 1,200 times per day. Buffington says this method has proven successful before.

“We have used this in the past. Surprisingly, this does generate leads from what we have seen,” Buffington explained.

The unsolved cases go all the way back to 1983.
