Study: Watching superhero films can boost confidence and reduce anxiety

It and other superhero flicks aren't just great entertainment: They can also help you conquer your fears, improve your confidence and reduce anxiety, according to a report.

Experts say taking in a big action thriller could be used as a kind of "cinema therapy" to treat those with a range of psychological disorders, reports the Sunday Times of London.

Researchers found last month that big-screen exposure to the adventures of Spider-Man and Ant-Man reduced symptoms of spider and ant phobias by 20 percent, the report said.
