Is the news stressing us out?

The technology we rely on, our phones, for instance, might be hurting us even more than they help us.

That's because we get bombarded with news on our phones all the time, and it stresses us out. Psychologist Wendy Rice what used to be a distraction from our daily lives has become our daily life.

“We can’t ever leave it. If we’re not careful with how we are handling our notifications it is being pushed at us constantly,” Rice said.

But being informed is key to being involved, right? Rice says maybe not.

“There are ways to be involved where you can make a difference. I’m not sure that weighing in on the President’s Twitter is really being involved,” Rice explained, adding that volunteering, writing lawmakers, and voting are the best ways to stay engaged in 2019.
