How much time do we spend in Houston traffic?

As you deal with morning traffic every weekday, there’s a new study showing just how long we have to sit in it.

Houston drivers can get to work in 31 minutes, but if you use Metro, it almost doubles to 52 minutes. Kelly Hall at Geotab told KTRH that's not good at all.

“Only 14% of commuters using public transit can make it to their destination in less than thirty minutes. That’s a pretty low percentage,” Hall explained.

About half of Houston drivers can get to where they want to go in 31 minutes. Hall says we have a lot of catching up to do with the cities that have the easiest commutes.

“San Diego, for example, has 77% of their car commuters can make it to their destination in 30 minutes or less,” Hall stated.

But at least we are not New York, where drivers spend about 40 minutes in traffic, and only 4% can get to work in less than the 31 minutes we average here in Houston.
