NASA working to avoid real life 'Armageddon'

It’s not just a movie. NASA really is working on ways to avoid have an asteroid crash into the Earth.

NASA Administrator Jim Birdentstine told a planetary defense conference today the first thing they have to do is track all the objects that pose a threat, and that there are 25,000 thousand out there.

“We’ve only been able to detect one third of those objects. For the folks here from Europe, it’s big enough to destroy and entire European country. That’s what 140 meters represents,” Birdentstine said, adding that the Duende object that came close to Earth in 2013 could take another shot at us in 2123.
