Immigrant Child Abandoned at Border

Border Patrol agents in south Texas found a three-year old boy, alone and crying in a corn field near Brownsville.

Officials say they found his name and a phone number written on his shoes, but so far they have been unable to reach the child's parents, or anyone else at the number provided.

Investigators say the child was part of a larger group of people who made their way across the border. When they were confronted by agents, the group ran off and abandoned the child.

The boy is being transferred to the care of Health and Human Services.
