U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz in town

Senator Ted Cruz was in town today to give the keynote address during the Greater Houston Partnership 2019 State of the Senate. He discussed funding for flooding, immigration and healthcare. He said as of today, more than $30 billion in funding has come to Texas to rebuild and improve flooding infrastructure. But, $4 billion is stuck at HUD.

He said his Education Freedom Scholarships and Opportunity Act is a bill that would expand elementary, secondary and vocational education opportunities for students by providing a federal tax credit to encourage individuals and businesses to donate to nonprofit scholarship funds.

Cruz said his number one priority is "jobs, jobs, jobs". And that jobs should be the priority of Texans.
