Red Light Cameras Could Be Removed from Texas

Texas could soon be banning red light cameras.

A bill proposing a ban on the devices passed a major hurdle this week in the state legislature.

HB 1631 would make it illegal for cities to have red light cameras in their intersections and would prohibit fines based on a recorded image.

It's likely to pass with strong support in the state House of Representatives.

The Texas legislature reconvenes Monday.
