Left Challenging Mueller Report Ahead of Release

Democrats are chomping at the bit for this morning's release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report on Russia's interference in the 2016 election. But, it likely won't make a difference what the report says. Some already are criticizing the timing just before Easter weekend.

Attorney General William Barr issued a summary report emphasizing no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, but did not exonerate the president from obstruction allegations.

“If one word, lawfully I might add, is redacted from the some 400 pages of the Mueller report, the left will scream oh my gosh there’s obstruction. What’s behind here? What did Barr do? Just continuing all of this folly,” says political insider Chris Begala.

“Their sole end game is to defy the will of the people that Donald Trump was elected president,” he says.“They want him in handcuffs. They want him out of the White House and they want to be able to have total complete power.”

Begala is hoping the Trump administration follows through with an investigation into what he calls "the real conspiracy.

“What about the CIA?What about the FBI? What about Comey? Rosenstein? All of them putting falsified evidence in front of FISA courts, planting spies to spy on opposition,” he says.

“That a fake complete investigation on Hillary Clinton existed, that was bent toward total complete malfeasance, and also the spying on a political opponent.”

Meanwhile, Trump's legal team of about a dozen lawyers and staff members are planning to respond quickly and aggressively if there is any damaging material in the report.
