Survey finds President Trump has advantages to win re-election

The presidential election is more than a year away, but one investment bank has already made a prediction that President Trump could be re-elected.

Republican strategist Vlad Davidiuk said there's some key factors that historically have helped incumbents.

"Strong economy, growth, increases in jobs, increases in the positive metrics a family uses to determine if they're better off. A lot of those things are trending in President Trump's favor," said Davidiuk.

He said incumbent presidents do have a clear advantage seeking re-elections and it's hard for challengers to unseat them.

Davidiuk said the president has a lot going for him since the Democrats have yet to settle on one coherent narrative.

"Incumbent presidents do have a clear advantage going into re-election and it's extremely hard for challengers to unseat them," said Davidiuk.

He said with a pool of a dozen or more Democratic presidential candidates, challengers are getting support from their voting base, but a lot can happen between now and November 2020.
