Storms Likely to Evade Most of Houston

A system threatening to bring strong storms and possible tornadoes through Greater Houston Saturday looks like it will enter Texas further north than had been anticipated and may not bring the dangerous conditions we had feared.

Showers can be expected in the morning and it will be breezy, but the hazardous weather will threaten residents in counties north and east of Houston more than homes closer to the coast. Possible thunderstorms and rain will be concentrated north of I-10.

West Texas began the weekend under a tornado watch as a strong system moves across the state.

There could be a line of rain that moves through the Houston area in the afternoon hours. We’ll have your weather forecasts and all breaking news on KTRH.
