Search On For Hit and Run Driver Who Killed A Woman

Authorities are searching for a hit-and-run driver who killed a woman in northeast Harris County Monday night.

Deputies say the driver killed a woman as he was behind the wheel of his SUV in northeast Harris County. He stopped and got out of his vehicle. Then he got back inside and drove away, leaving the scene.

It happened in the 4800 block of Aldine Mail Route around 10 p.m. Monday night.

Laquria Williams, 27, was walking to a store with her sister-in-law. They crossed the street and that's when she was struck by the SUV. She wasn't in the crosswalk according to authorities investigating the scene. She was struck and thrown several hundred feet down the road.

She died in scene.

Witnesses say the driver exited his vehicle and appeared distraught. Then he got back into his vehicle and drove off.

Deputies say the driver is a man in a white or silver Chevy Trailblazer. The vehicle has a damaged headlight on the front driver's side.
