A Katy man is charged with murdering his wife and burning her body.
Harris County Sheriff's deputies say 44-year-old Jay Hammersley admitted to killing 29-year-old Mara Vestal in February after the two of them had a fight.
He originally told police last month that she had left their home and was missing.
Hammersley reportedly burned Vestal's body in a shed in the back yard, and then put her remains in a trash bin near his job.
Her remains haven't been found.
Hammersley is accused of murder and tampering with a corpse.
