(Houston, TX) -- A Houston priest is accused of sexually abusing minors prior to coming to the United States. Father Jesus Suarez has been removed from his position as pastor at St. Philip of Jesus Catholic Church in northeast Houston.
Suarez is accused of sexually abusing minors, and perhaps fathering children, in his native Colombia.
Over the weekend, the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston notified parishioners at St. Philip, and also Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Conroe, where Suarez had served before. Another priest formerly at the Conroe church faces four charges of indecency with a child.
