"Affluenza Teen" Allowed To Remove Ankle Monitor

(Fort Worth, TX) -- The former "affluenza teen" is now freed from his ankle monitor, by order of a Tarrant County judge. Ethan Couch was 16 when he killed four people in a DWI crash. A judge sentenced him to probation after the defense attorney claimed Couch's wealthy upbringing kept him from learning right from wrong.

Couch was later jailed for two years for fleeing to Mexico with his mom, in violation of his probation. He had to wear the monitor afterward. The Tarrant County D-A's Office says the judge didn't consult with them about removing it.
