A city councilman in Richardson, Texas apologizes after calling New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez a ‘bimbo’ on social media.
Scott Dunn deactivated his Twitter account, but screenshots are circulating from a previous tweet, where he said, "The embarrassment is to have bimbos like you with nothing between your ear(s)."
According to the Dallas Morning News, Dunn was defending President Trump’s State of the Union Address; Ocasio-Cortez referred to the event as an ‘embarrassment.’The Democrat lawmaker had been criticized by several pundits for looking ‘sullen’ during the speech.
In a Facebook post on Friday, Councilman Dunn apologized for the ‘bimbo’ reference writing, "The words I used were offensive.I am responsible for my own words and actions. I apologize to anyone who finds what I said offensive."
