STUDY: Kids Are Not Getting Balanced Sleep, Exercise, Screen time

(Dallas, TX) -- A study from the University of Texas says only one in 20 children and teens in the country is getting the right amount of sleep, exercise and screen time. The study says kids could end up with health problems like obesity, smoking and depression if balance is not found.

The recommended sleep time is nine to 12 hours of sleep for kids between the ages of six and 12, and eight to ten hours for teenagers. Parents whose kids aren't getting enough sleep are advised to cut back on screen time and try to get them to have more active time.
